Autumn Snow Globe Kids Craft
Autumn has got be one of the most beautiful seasons! Leaves turn to earthy colours and our gardens are carpeted with these bold Autumn Hues – Don’t you wish you could just bottle it all up for seasons to come? Well, now you can!
This Autumn Snow Globe, is a great activity for kids, it’s easy and fun to make and its quite a cute seasonal decoration!
You will need:
- Large Mason Jar
- Glycerine
- Fall Foil Leaf Confetti
- Tree Branch (from your backyard)
- Hot Glue Gun
- Water
Method:
- Collect branches from your garden and trim to size to fit into your jar- make sure that it fits (with the lid closed) before attaching with glue.
- Add a generous drop of hot glue on the middle of the bottom side of your mason jar lid. Stand your tree branch in the middle of the glue and hold until it is set.
- Glue a few leaves to the tree branches and allow to set until all the glue is completely dry. Fill mason jar with water (roughly just under a cup for a 250ml jar),
- Add 2 Tbsp glycerine to the water and mix it with a spoon.
- Add as many confetti leaves as you want. Swirl around with a spoon and if the confetti immediately sinks to the bottom then add a bit more glycerine. The glycerine is what makes the leaves fall slowly.
- Place the tree branch carefully down into the water and twist the lid on very tight. If you’d like, you can glue the lid to the jar to prevent any leaks
