Paint Stripes on your Floor
What you will need:
- Paint, two or more colours of your choice
- Sandpaper
- Paint rollers and paint brushes
- Masking tape
- Rags
- Primer
- Tape measure
Method:
- Ensure your floors are clean before you begin.
- Sand the floors to give them some grit. The paint will adhere better this way. Wipe dust away and ensure floors are clean again.
- Prime the floor with your floor primer. 2 to 3 coats works best.
- Decide on your ideal width of stripe, measure them out on your floor and draw lines in pencil to guide you.
- Mark lines with masking tape.
- Paint different colours in between the various lines. You will need to paint about 2-3 coats allowing 2 hours in between each coat to dry.
- Remove tape once you are done with each colour, so that you can apply tape over dried colour to begin the next colour.
- Once all stripes are painted allow the floor over a week to cure. It is advisable to walk with socks on the floor until fully cured.
