For a clean and modern aesthetic in your home, shelves with brackets can look messy and more like an afterthought than a feature. This is why many people opt for floating shelves instead, the neat finish of floating shelves can add a classy and practical touch to any room!

What you will need:

  • Floating shelf kit
  • Screws
  • Drill
  • Plastic wall anchors
  • Screwdriver
  • Spirit level
  • Tape measure
  • Pencil

Method:

  1. Start by measuring the shelf and marking on the wall where you want your shelf to go.
  2. Now use your level and draw a pencil line across the wall, ensuring that your shelf is straight.
  3. Drill pilot holes in the wall and insert your plastic wall anchors. This ensures a more secure fit on the wall.
  4. Take your bracket and align it with the pilot holes you’ve drilled. Now screw in the screws into the wall anchors until tights. Remember – Lefty loosy, righty tighty.
  5. Slide the shelf in place and add the items you want to display.
