DIY Salt Dough Recipe
Salt Dough is a crafty way for kids to make their own ornaments. Not only is it a creative activity but when your child squishes, rolls, flattens, shapes, scores or cuts salt dough, they develop and strengthen their hand muscles, thus improving fine motor skills of your child.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour (Gluten-Free flour will work too)
- 1 cup salt
- 1 cup water
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, stir together the flour and salt.
- Gradually add water while stirring and mixing to form a dough with a Play-Doh like consistency.
- Form the dough into a ball and knead for approximately 5 minutes, adding a bit more flour if the dough is too sticky or a bit more water if it’s too dry.
- Once the dough is at the right consistency, get moulding!
- Once you are happy with your salt dough pieces, bake them in the oven at 200 degrees Celsius. The baking time will vary on how thick the salt dough pieces are.
- Let your kids enjoy and get creative!
