A: Yes, Mica Hardware is considered an Essential Service Provider. Each essential service provider/tradesman will be required to present a valid CIPC essential services permit dated 17 April 2020 onwards and will be required to sign and bind themselves to a declaration stating that products needed are intended for use for emergency repairs only.

Q: What essential products can be purchased at a Mica store?

A: If you are a registered tradesman or essential service provider, you can purchase only the products required for essential services and/or emergency repair work. These include:

  1. Hardware, components and supplies required by a qualified tradesperson solely for the purpose of emergency repairs at residential homes;
  2. Hardware, components and supplies required by any entity engaged in the provisions of essential services for any project related to the provision of water, electricity or other essential services.

Q: I am not a registered tradesman but I need essential items, can I purchase?

A: Mica Hardware may not open or sell to the general public under government regulation. Mica Hardware is only able to sell products and materials to tradesman and essential services providers that have been deemed necessary for the purpose of emergency repairs at residential homes; or related to the provision of water, electricity or other essential services.

Q:Can I purchase essential items online?

A: Unfortunately, Mica Hardware does offer an online service. Essential tradesmen will have to visit their nearest operating store for essential items.

Q: What precautions are Mica stores taking to combat COVID-19?

A: All operating Mica stores have hand sanitisers available for customers to use for their hands, trolleys or baskets. All staff members that are in close proximity to each other and our customers are required to wear face masks. Frequently touched surfaces are cleaned down before and after helping a customer. Staff members and customers are advised to practice social distancing.
